'We're past the point of needing to explain what crypto is'
With a huge following on X and the founder of multiple companies, Mario Nawfal talks trust and transparency

Mario Nawfal is a serial entrepreneur as the founder of the Athena Group of Companies. He is also a media star and has interviewed some of the biggest names in the world of politics, economics and the crypto space. He has 1.7 million followers on X and hosts his own show called International Blockchain Consulting (IBC) which is an active investor in the blockchain space.
Mario sat down with The Crypto Radio’s Justin Harper on the sidelines of the recent Crypto Content Creator Campus to talk how he has navigated the complexities of the crypto space while also maintaining a presence in the political realm.
"It's a balancing act," he explained. "I love the crypto game, but I have to be very careful about how I approach it, especially with my political work."
Transparency and trust have also been crucial elements of Mario's approach. He emphasized the importance of being upfront about his involvement with various crypto projects, even those that may have ultimately failed. "When you sacrifice your reputation for short-term gain, it just doesn't pay off in the long run," he said.
Mario's team of more than 100 people, which includes writers, moderators, and organizers, has been instrumental in helping him navigate the complexities of the crypto and political landscapes. "It's a big team, but it's necessary to maintain the quality and consistency of our content," he explained.
The entrepreneur sees the rise of platforms like X as a significant trend in the social media and content creation space. "X is blowing up, and Elon is doing an incredible job," he said. "It's no longer just a platform for sharing thoughts; it's evolving into a multi-faceted media platform."
Additionally, Mario believes the focus in crypto education is shifting from the basics of blockchain and cryptocurrency to more advanced topics like DeFi, Web3, and the intersection of AI and crypto. "We're past the point of needing to explain what crypto is," he said. "Now it's about diving deeper into the more complex and interesting narratives."
Despite the challenges, Mario remains passionate about his work in both the crypto and political spheres. "It's tough, but I'm much better at dealing with it now," he said. "The key is to stay transparent, build trust, and never sacrifice your reputation for short-term gains."
As the crypto industry continues to evolve, content creators like Mario will play a crucial role in shaping the narrative and engaging with the broader public. The Crypto Radio will be doing the same.
