Mr. Crypto thrives in Dubai's crypto shark tank
From apartment experiments to desert-scale mining rigs, his journey shows how emotional self-awareness can beat technical expertise

“In Europe, I was a shark. In Dubai, I’m in a shark tank.”
Landing in the UAE humbled Goran Jovicic. He wasn’t the biggest player anymore – but he was determined to learn. Now known as Mr. Crypto, he’s built a mining empire by trusting his gut and staying grounded.
"I wanted to earn more, and I was searching for ways. 'Earn while you sleep' – that was my entry point," Mr. Crypto told The Crypto Radio. He went from hiding a single graphics card in a small apartment to running a major mining operation in the Middle East.
Formerly a corporate lawyer, he left the comfort of a salaried job not out of necessity, but ambition.
Turning a GPU into a mining empire
Mr. Crypto’s entry into the crypto space started with a $900 investment that strained his finances. At the time, he was still working full-time and living modestly. That purchase led him deeper into the world of mining.
Working from a small apartment during a difficult period in his personal life, he gradually expanded his setup. He spent his spare time learning, testing, and refining – laying the groundwork for what would eventually become a large-scale operation on the edge of Dubai’s industrial zones.
His motivation was simple: he wanted more. But it wasn’t just about the money. Corporate life had shown him exactly what he didn’t want. “Corporate work just showed me the way which I don’t want to do,” he said.
Emotions, Ethereum, and rebuilding
Mr. Crypto doesn’t pretend to be a perfect investor. In fact, his emotional nature is what led him away from trading altogether. “I’m very emotional. I can’t turn off my emotions, which is why trading doesn’t work for me,” he said.
Instead, mining became his chosen path – a system he could build, monitor, and scale without constantly reacting to market swings. This decision proved wise, but not without its own pitfalls. When Ethereum transitioned from proof-of-work to proof-of-stake, his mining hardware became useless overnight.
“It killed me, my investors, everybody,” he recalled. Still, he bounced back – because that’s what he does. “I’m the guy who learns from mistakes. Mistakes come, and I learn from them.”
His advice to others? Keep your expectations realistic. “If you put money expecting to change your life, you will lose it for sure.”
He encourages beginners to enter with a mindset focused on long-term growth, not short-term miracles. “The game is long term," he said. "If you're surprised by quick success, great. But set your mind for the long game.”
Why Dubai made him rethink everything
Relocating to Dubai forced Mr. Crypto to reassess his approach in a market where ambition alone wasn’t enough, sharpening his instincts and teaching him humility. “My B.S. detectors are very good. What sounds too good to be true, usually is,” he said.
While some in crypto posture as gurus or influencers, Mr. Crypto has a different mission. He wants to make crypto accessible, even boring. “Crypto is very simple. If you follow the simple path – buy, hold, buy machine, it will earn money.”
His message to beginners is direct: “I want to create the feeling that everybody can do it. Just jump in. Enter with $10. You don’t need $100,000.”
Memecoins, mining, and mindset
Although he mines full-time, Mr. Crypto isn’t blind to the speculation surrounding the crypto space. He’s seen the hype cycles and memecoin mania – and he keeps his distance.
“Trump couldn't keep his memecoin up. What makes you think a white sheep or black dog can survive?” he said. His advice is straightforward: “Get in, earn, get out. Five days, get out.”
Despite his casual tone, his philosophy is underpinned by hard-won lessons. “What you give is what you get. Inflow is outflow,” he said.
And on the controversial subject of mining’s environmental impact, Mr. Crypto is blunt: “We are destroying the planet in so many ways,” he said, suggesting the mining debate is often exaggerated. While he acknowledges colleagues exploring green solutions, he doesn’t believe small-scale actions will change global outcomes.
Mr. Crypto doesn’t promise shortcuts or certainty – just lessons from experience. For anyone overwhelmed by crypto’s complexity, his advice is simple: start small, stay realistic, and give it time.
“Everybody can do it,” he said. “Just set your expectations right – and play the long game.”
