The Crypto Kid's rise to stardom
The Crypto Radio speaks to 17-year-old content creator, a prominent figure in Dubai’s crypto space

At just 17 years old, the self-proclaimed Crypto Kid is making waves in the fast-paced world of digital assets. In a recent interview with The Crypto Radio, the young content creator shared his insights on the evolving landscape of crypto-focused media and his journey into the industry.
The Crypto Kid first stumbled upon the world of cryptocurrency in 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic forced him to pivot away from his love of drama and theater. "I randomly came across a YouTube video that talked about Ethereum and how that's going to reach $50,000 by the end of 2020," he said. "That didn't happen, but it allowed me to embark on a journey where I could study cryptocurrencies and study blockchain."
This initial foray into the crypto space ignited a passion within the young creator. "When I researched the financial system and why fiat itself is a potential scam, I kind of fell in love with the idea that Bitcoin aims to resolve the financial system," he explained.
This newfound fascination led the Crypto Kid, real name Efe Kelemci, to dive deeper into the intricacies of blockchain technology and its potential to disrupt traditional finance.
Now, he has established himself as a prominent figure in Dubai’s crypto space, with a strong presence on platforms such as YouTube. His content strategy encompasses three distinct formats: short technical analysis videos, longer in-depth explorations of macroeconomics, and crypto projects, plus live shows featuring insights from industry experts.
"Whenever I deliver content, whenever I talk about it, I feel very passionate, and I feel very good about myself for helping even one person just understand why Bitcoin is so valuable and how eventually it will become a necessity to own Bitcoin rather than just buying it as a speculative asset to make money in the short term," he said.
However, the Crypto Kid acknowledges that the crypto content landscape is vastly different from the mainstream social media landscape that traditional creators have mastered. "There is a clear difference between the content that we do ourselves, the crypto people content. It is definitely much different to what gets a million views and what gets 10 million views on YouTube and Instagram," he said.
One of the key differences, he said, is the ability of crypto creators to monetize a smaller, more engaged audience. "Usually we make a lot of money from a lot smaller amount of views compared to what traditional creators make.”
This realization led the Crypto Kid to attend the recent Crypto Content Creator Campus in Dubai, where he had the opportunity to learn from established web2 creators like Zach King and Randy Zuckerberg. "What I personally took away was that I could definitely improve my storytelling, incorporate more creativity, other than just giving a lot of data and a lot of information that could possibly get a lot of people to click off and not follow through with watching the entirety of the content," he said.
As he looks to the future, he acknowledges that his Crypto Kid persona may not last forever. "I do have other pursuits that I will follow. I like to do content because I like sharing my analysis and it's a way for me to consolidate my learning, and I enjoy doing it. But I do think in the next five to 10 years, I will be doing different things."
For now, the Crypto Kid remains focused on his mission of educating and engaging with his audience, leveraging his unique perspective and passion for the crypto industry.
“We need to tell people, if you're not in blockchain already, if you're not in crypto project, if you're not in decentralized you will be in the very near future, and probably everything about your life will be, and your and your asset will be”.
