The Crypto Radio's ultimate guide to GITEX Global Dubai 2024
Everything you need to know about the sprawling tech event
Marketing itself as the world’s largest tech and start-up event, GITEX Global is coming up in Dubai next week. With 6,500 plus global tech firms in attendance and visitors from more than 180 countries, it’s a key date on the industry calendar.
Too big to fit in just one venue, the event may seem a little intimidating to some. The Crypto Radio is stepping in to break things down into bite-size chunks.
Firstly, you might notice that the listed locations of talks are different. This is because the sprawling event is split in two across separate locations; GITEX Global at Dubai World trade Center and Expand North Star at Dubai Harbour.
Secondly, to confuse matters, the dates are slightly different. The arm taking place at the Harbour runs from Sunday October 13 until Thursday October 17, while the main event at DWTC starts on Monday October 14 and ends on Friday October 18.

GITEX Global
Running between October 14-18, GITEX Global is located at Dubai World Trade Center.
If you’re a little overwhelmed by the sheer scale, organizers have broken down the days into distinct themes. Mad about AI? Attend on Tuesday. Robots more your thing, opt for Friday.

Day one on Monday is Tech Investment Day, where visitors can explore the investment trends reshaping global wealth, such as LLMs, metaverse, and quantum computing.
Next up is Super AI Tuesday, which will showcase use cases of AI revolutionizing industries, from generative AI to intelligent automation.
Stay safe on Wednesday with Cybersecurity Day – your chance to explore emerging threats such as deepfakes, ransomware and phishing as well as the tools needed to protect your company against them.
Thursday’s theme is Data Centres Universe, which will dive into innovations in sustainable energy solutions and the future of data management and infrastructure.
To round off the week, Futuristic Friday will host visionaries and innovators showcasing technologies that will shape our future, such as advanced robotics and space tech.
Spread over these five days are two subevents - AI Everything and DevSlam – as well as a number of shows.
AI Everything
Focusing on global AI collaboration, sessions will include Data Centres, offering expert insights into the evolution of digital infrastructure and AI Cloud Developer Summit, where developers, technologists, and founders can explore Tech for Innovation and discuss advanced tools and practices for efficient development.
DevSlam
This subevent targets coders and developers with shows like Future Mobility, focusing on AI-powered tech, EVs, and new innovations. Other sessions include Digital Cities and Energy Transition, and a hands-on Virtual City Simulation tackling real-world urban challenges.
Expand North Star
Moving on from the main GITEX Global venue all the way to Dubai Harbour, Expand North Star or ENS is the startup wing of the event with the very slightly different dates of October 13-16.
It is further split into four subevents - GITEX Impact, Future Blockchain Summit, Fintech Surge, and Marketing Mania - but which ones are right for you?
GITEX Impact
The aim of this subevent is to highlight how technology is transforming industries and driving innovation for positive change. One spotlight session on Tuesday, for example, will look at Digital Kitchens, Eco-Friendly Plates: Revolutionising Sustainable Dining.
Future Blockchain Summit
The Crypto Radio team will be making a beeline for this subevent, which is the largest of its kind in MENA. The summit will explore the latest blockchain trends and applications, with talks including AI and Blockchain for Social & Ethical Good with Cassiopeia and 5ire founders.
Fintech Surge
As a platform for fintech startups to present their solutions, tackle regulatory challenges, and explore the future of finance and technology, Fintech Surge kicks off the week with 2030, The Trillion Dollar Year on Sunday.
Marketing Mania
Tailored for marketing professionals, Marketing Mania delves into emerging digital marketing trends, brand engagement, and customer acquisition strategies. Showcasing multiple soundscape projects across the week, the stage will present Mindscape XR on Monday - an AI-powered XR hybrid sound artwork and app, combining 3D audio and procedural visuals to create customized sounds for leisure and meditation.
