Vietnam unveils blockchain strategy to lead the region by 2030
Focusing on legal reform, infrastructure, talent development, fostering innovation and global collaboration

Vietnam is betting big on blockchain, aiming to become a regional leader by 2030.
The National Blockchain Strategy was announced by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) yesterday.
According to the local media outlet Vietnam.vn, the government acknowledges that blockchain is a leading tech trend. It has undeniably seen great contributions—from boosting data reliability and security to enhancing digital structure, blockchain has a lengthy record of game-changing innovations.

There are five key areas highlighted in the strategy, which agencies such as the Vietnam Blockchain Association and the MIC will manage.
According to Vietnam.vn, the areas are “(1) Perfecting the legal environment; (2) Developing infrastructure, forming a blockchain industrial ecosystem; (3) Developing human resources for the Blockchain field; (4) Promoting Blockchain development and application; (5) Promoting research, innovation, and international cooperation.”
Authorities plan to build 20 blockchain brands, as well as maintain three or more blockchain testing centers or specialized zones in major areas for a nationwide network.
According to Cointelegraph, the centers will play vital roles in security, blockchain app creation and launching, and innovation in the wider landscape.
Phan Duc Trung, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Blockchain Association, said “the National Blockchain Strategy recently issued by the Prime Minister is an important milestone in the blockchain field, demonstrating the commitment and specific actions of the Government, the determination of the drafting unit, the Ministry of Information and Communications, as well as the efforts of the community in promoting a transparent, safe, and sustainable digital economy.”
With this strategic roadmap to becoming a regional blockchain leader by 2030, Vietnam is solidifying its position in the digital future.
