Why token launches are going live—literally
Live-streamed crypto launches are building trust and hype in real time—Blum Memepad is at the forefront

What happens when a 21-year-old blogger launches a joke token with just $1,900? On Blum Memepad, that token briefly reached a market cap of $90 million—fueled by viral marketing and the right connections.
That’s what happened with Ilya ‘Nowkie,’ a 21-year-old Twitch streamer who launched a memecoin through Blum Memepad. His project gained rapid traction, helped by live streaming and exposure to Blum’s audience. At its peak, the token reached a $6 million valuation, with a momentary market cap surge to $90 million.
“Recently, Ilya and I hosted a stream on Blum Memepad, which was also broadcast on his Twitch. We hit a record—over 180,000 viewers on Twitch and more than 10,000 on Blum Memepad,” Vladimir Smerkis, co-founder and CMO of Blum Memepad, told The Crypto Radio.
While live streaming played a role, the project’s visibility also benefited from strong backing within the Blum community. It’s an example of how multiple factors—including audience reach, branding, and timing—can influence a token launch’s success.
The role of live streaming in crypto launches
Blum Memepad, one of the largest platforms of its kind and a key player in the TON blockchain ecosystem, has introduced live-streamed launches to bring more transparency and engagement to crypto fundraising.
When asked why Blum Memepad integrated live streaming despite the risks of real-time broadcasting, Smerkis emphasized its ability to capture audience attention.
“Streaming significantly enhances user interaction, making the trading experience more immersive. We live in an attention-driven economy where transparency matters, and live streaming allows direct interaction between creators and their audience,” he explained.
Of course, live streaming also presents challenges. Real-time broadcasts leave little room for error, and the potential for scams or inappropriate content is a concern. Smerkis reassured that Blum Memepad has addressed these risks with a comprehensive moderation system, combining AI-powered tools with manual oversight. “We’ve studied challenges other platforms face and developed safeguards to ensure a secure and engaging experience.”
What makes a token launch successful?
While live streaming increases visibility, Smerkis pointed out that a token’s success depends on several factors beyond exposure alone.
“A strong launch requires a transparent and public founder, a viral and fun concept, early community support, and strong social media engagement,” he said. “When executed correctly, a well-promoted token launch can gain significant traction overnight.”
Trust is another key element. “Trust is everything in crypto,” Smerkis added. “Live streaming helps build that by allowing creators to engage with their audience in real time, answer questions, and communicate their vision. This kind of transparency can make all the difference in an industry that’s often met with skepticism.”
Competing in the memecoin market
As more platforms enter the space, Blum Memepad is focusing on accessibility and engagement to stay ahead.
“We are the largest memepad on the TON blockchain and the second-largest globally. Our platform allows anyone to launch a token in just three taps, making it the most user-friendly option available,” Smerkis said.
Beyond its ease of use, Blum Memepad continuously works to attract top talent from artists, influencers, and even scientists to bring fresh ideas to its ecosystem.
Education is also a priority. Through social media, the Blum Academy YouTube channel, and in-platform resources, the platform provides guidance on navigating trading risks, avoiding scams, and making informed investment decisions.
The future of interactive crypto experiences
Memecoins thrive on internet culture, humor, and community engagement, making them one of the most dynamic areas of crypto. While trends change, the shift toward interactive and community-driven finance suggests that tokens with strong audience participation will remain in demand.
“Crypto is moving beyond static transactions. People want real-time engagement and transparency. Live streaming bridges that gap, making token launches more dynamic and trust-driven,” Smerkis said.
Blum Memepad’s live-streaming feature is part of this shift, offering projects an opportunity to connect with audiences in a way that traditional token launches can’t. With a growing user base and a focus on security and accessibility, the platform is positioning itself at the forefront of this evolving space.
