Imagine creating music in the signature style of global music star Imogen Heap. Thanks to a new blockchain-powered AI tool, fans can now generate tracks inspired by her distinct sound.

Heap has partnered with the AI music platform Jen to release a model called StyleFilter, trained with her permission on her new singles Last Night on an Empire and What Have You Done To Me.

Users simply provide prompts, and the tool applies Heap’s unique style to their own music. It even includes a feature to gauge how much of Heap’s “vibe” is present in the final result.

Heap shared her excitement during the Web Summit in Lisbon: “I wanted to enable the fans to come in and generate a piece of music based on my own piece of music,” she explained, describing the tool as “an actual working song as a service.”

This latest innovation builds on Heap’s previous ventures into the tech world. Known for pushing boundaries, she previously launched Mycelia for Music, a blockchain-based platform for musicians, and the Creative Passport, a digital ID service empowering artists with greater control over their work.

Heap revealed that finding a platform aligned with her ethical standards was key to this project. “It was difficult to find a generative music platform that was ethically sourcing permissioned musical works to generate music from,” she said.

Jen and Heap have also introduced an AI voice model based on her own voice. To ensure ethical usage, the platform uses blockchain technology to secure every track created. Each song gets a unique digital signature recorded on the Root Network blockchain, confirming its authenticity and ownership. Importantly, tracks generated using the service belong entirely to the user.

With licensed training materials and transparent processes, Jen hopes to set a new standard for generative AI music and copyright protections.

This collaboration demonstrates how AI and blockchain can merge to empower fans while preserving creative integrity. For music lovers, it offers an exciting way to engage with the art and style of a beloved artist in a truly personal way.
